The Alchemist discussion topic #2

The alchemist comes to Santiago in the form of Melchizedek and says to him, “When you really want something to happen, the whole universe conspires so that your wish comes true”
What does this mean? Do you have any examples of this from your own life?

The Alchemist refers to my favorite scripture-- where your heart is there lies your treasure. A few months ago, Wellz and I read the book, "The Secret", which basically just sums up everything the Alchemist has already said, but maybe in a more Quantum Physical way. We've had our discussions about this, and the more we talk about it, I think the more we realize that you do create the world around you, you create the circumstances given to you in your life. So, other words, if you really want something to happen then you really have to believe that it's going to happen.

i thought this sounded much like the Secret as well. I think thatin first and sometimes even second world countries if you want it bad enough and focus on it you can get it. Obviously it is important to always be willing to submit your will to the Lords.
The ultimate goal for happiness is eternal life and that is open and attainable to all. Worldly goals and achievments aren't available to everyone. Third world countries, we know lots of people that know matter how hard they try, sacrifice, focus, and pray... they are unable to change their physical circumstances. Things like society and govenment do change our opportunities and dreams don't they?

Have any of you tried using "the secret"? I first heard about the law of attraction/law of vibration about 5 years ago & since then I've read several books about it (including Secret). I believe it, I just haven't yet figured out exactly how to work it. I have had a couple funny experiences with it though--maybe my "beginners luck" as the Alchemist would say...

i haven't noticed this to be true. not that things always go bad but there are so many things that people want that they don't get: children, a cure for a sick child, a better job. i don't think the "universe" has anything to do with it. God's will.
