front yard views

we love where we live. not slc. not provo. but easy access to both. american fork canyon is just up the road. there is close climbing. we get ski passes every year. and i love that our neighborhood/ward (same thing) is very defined. it makes it easier to get to know people.
when we first moved here 4 years ago (our house is about 9 years old) there were 40 kids in nursery. stella is in nursery now. i think there are 3 different classes. i love that there are so many kids. every day of summer and on snow days there are kids everywhere.
but we are thinking of selling because we are out-growing our house and now is a good time to sell. i always liked change but now i'm lazy. i like our neighbors--i even know most of their names. i just have to tell myself that utah is probably filled with neighborhoods of good people like ours. there are lots of pretty places we would love to live--like idaho, montana, colorado--but we don't want to live far away from both our families. flying with kids is a pain and very expensive. so we have to be in driving distance to at least one side.

I love your neighborhood too. It looks very nice.

Big wards with lots of kids are the best. When I lived on Capital Hill my kids were 2 of 4 in the primary...all church office building dwellers. It sucked but we got to go to the cool old church house across from the capital!

Everyone just come back to SG. It's time. I'll meet you there.

80%, I always picture neighborhoods with kids having no yard. That's really cool that you have both.

Holy cow, that is a HUGE primary. The neighbohood I grew up in had tons of kids back in those days--the Larkins, Wilkinsons, Gardner, Wittwer, Scott, Wells, Creamer, Robison--I loved it. Why doncha just move into one of those giant houses in your neighborhood? (like in the first picture?)
Heather, you guys are buying a home in St. George? Where? When?

Our plan is to eventually buy a home in SG. We are moving back to SG in Jan. Wellz will be done with his MBA in June. Then we will have a better idea about staying in St. G or elsewhere. But we are leaning towards Sunny G.
Spendlove, if you want to move to Cedar we have a really cool lot for sale in a new neighborhood. It has really pretty mountain views.

we've thought about buying a bigger house in our neighborhood. or adding on to ours. but this just isn't our style of house. that is one thing we don't like about this area. all the houses are the same with a slightly different shade of stucco.
i'm pretty sure we'll never live in st. g. it's too hot and no skiing in the winter. brianhead no longer counts. it sucks compared to up here.
if i could move into a culdesac with all you guys it might be worth it.

I agree Katie. It sucks here.

I too would move into a cul-de-sac with all you guys. We could go to the lake everyday all summer. I'll provide the boat if someone else will provide the pool (for non-wakeboarding days).
As for no skiing, who cares. You can rock climb all winter in Sunny G.

remember the good ol days when gas wasn't a billion dollars? that would be fun to go to the lake while our husbands worked. rock climbing in st. george is too hard. i'm old and fat now.
we could have a neighborhood pool like sarah and heather.
i'll talk to dan.

I like where this conversation is going. We were just looking at Elim Valley which is a new subdivision right next to Sand Hollow. If the plans actually go through, it could be a cool place to live.

P.S. My parents have always wanted to make a compound for all their kids to live in. Weird? Yes.

very nice, my dad mentioned that neighborhood to me recently. That website kinda made me laugh though. The writing was so intense.
heather, give me details about your cedar lot.

Tang- the lot is in Ashdown Forest. It's .32 acres and in a culdesac. We bought it when we thought we were going to live in Cedar forever. Now we aren't so sure. The website is www.mtnview.com then click the Ashdown link.
